Exclusive! Best Alternative Browsers For Privacy

Increase privacy, security and control, with these five great web browsers.

Of course, all browsers can be considered ‘secure’, but there’s an ever-growing choice of specialised products that are specifically focused on the issue of user privacy, of handing back control to the user and opting out of the kind of data collection systems that underpin the likes of Google. All of which is music to the ears of many of us.

So, if you value privacy and control, there’s bound to be something here for you. And, as always, if you use a product you love and we’ve not listed it, please let us know in the comments section below. Enjoy!

Brave is the brainchild of Brendan Eich (co-founder of the Mozilla Project). It’s an ultra-secure, open-source browser that’s based on Chromium/Blink engine, aimed at blocking website trackers, saving bandwidth, and displaying only ads allowed by Brave. Available for PC and Mac, the browser aims to improve your online privacy by sharing less data with ad customers. It does this by targeting web ads via an analysis of users’ (anonymous) browsing history. Brave opts to retain 15% of ad revenue for itself, pay content publishers 55%, ad partners 15% and, (this is the good bit) give 15% to the browser’s users! Power to the people!
